| 7 Jul 2009 | Paul M Benjamin | Loading...Wow, I love your work. I like the graphic style. keep up the great expression you give your work. Can’t wait to see more. Cadi MacKay replies: "You’re a darling, thank you! I’m actually quite proud of the more graphic pieces I’ve done, even all the old line art I’ve been posting here. I started to do high contrast black and white because my lineart was always so messy (rubbish, really) compared to my colouring. Eventually enough was enough and I began to study inking. I still have a long way to go but I’m happy I’m still progressing and haven’t plateaued.
(Thank you for the fannishness. I’m not sure my art deserves a fan yet, but I definitely appreciate the gesture. )"
| 13 Jul 2009 | Matthew Makin | Loading...Enjoyed my all to brief visit to your gallery Cadi Hope to see some more work soon. As someone who likes working on my own graphic novel I particularly liked the pages/panels of "The Genocidist". Great stuff. Cadi MacKay replies: "Hey Matt! Thanks for stopping by (even though, alas, it was but brief). I promise I will be posting more soon (I have another 8 pages ready to post and 10 to colour, but I’m not sure some of them will be accepted here due to maturish content.)
I know you were putting some prelims and panels up from your GN in your gallery - how goes it? (And in pencils too, gah, brave/talented man.)"
| 14 Jul 2009 | Matthew Makin | Loading...Hey Cadi, I have the opening scene (about 10 pages) of my (GN ) sketched out but am still experimenting with inking techniques as I don’t fancy shading all my panels in with pencil. That was the original idea but it just wouldn’t work methinks.
I’m not sure if anyone will like it but I really like creating the world and it’s characters and situations so that is solely what keeps me working on it.
Looking forward to seeing your next 8 pages
